School Announcement on 3rd August, 2021
Dear Wah Yan Community,
We hope you are having a restful summer break. The Education Bureau (EDB) has announced on 2nd August 2021 that all schools will continue to have half-day face-to-face classes in the 2021/22 school year. It also decided that when the teachers and school staff, as well as the students of schools, have achieved a high vaccination rate, such schools concerned may arrange more learning time for their students. For an individual school :
(i) if 70% or more of the teachers and school staff (including teaching and non-teaching staff) directly employed by the school have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days; and
(ii) if 70% or more of the students in the whole school have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days,
the EDB will, taking into consideration the actual circumstances of the schools, allow the students of such schools to resume normal school life, including whole-day face-to-face classes, luncheons, as well as extra-curricular activities.
As mentioned in the messages from the principal in June and July, we strongly desire to resume our young gentlemen’s learning experiences in full during the new school year, we would like to once again encourage all students, parents/guardians, teachers, and school staff to consider receiving the vaccination (https://www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/) during the summer vacation. You may also watch Dr. Thomas Tsang Ho Fai’s presentation (https://youtu.be/RKi2fWf9jqc/) to know more about vaccination before making your decision.
Meanwhile, the school leadership is checking more details with the EDB for the planning of our works. We will send you more details about related logistic arrangements and follow-ups in due course.
